Join Barry & Cathy Beck on an exclusive Frontiers hosted departure in East Africa June 18 – July 1, 2013. This is a photographic safari encompassing Tanzania and Kenya offering a superb combination of the finest game viewing and safari camps in East Africa.
We have carefully designed this itinerary to include four of the very best-appointed camps in East Africa – Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and Serengeti Under Canvas in Tanzania and concluding the trip in Kenya's Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp. Each location provides a distinctive, contrasting African experience giving you insight into the unique flora and fauna found in the regions.
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge in the National Park offering a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley Soda Lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides.
Your next stop is the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. The largest intact caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens anywhere and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. A permanent population of more than 20,000 animals inhibits a mere 100 square miles in the 200 foot deep crater, making this one of the few places where you have a chance to see the entire "Big Five" in the course of a single game drive.
Complementing the lavishness of the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, you will next be sleeping under canvas in a classic tented camp at Serengeti Under Canvas. This luxurious tented camp moves around the Park year round, bringing you within reach of the Great Migration and exploring remote, beautiful corners of the Serengeti. It is the migration for which the Serengeti is perhaps most famous. The annual movement of over one and a half million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras and 500,000 Thomson's gazelle flow from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains, and then west and north after the long rains in the spring. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back.
Known as Kenya's best loved safari camp, Kichwa Tembo is located in the remote north western part of the Masai Mara Reserve.
The confirmed dates for this photographic safari are June 18 – July 1, 2013 and the approximate land package cost is $13,125 per person based on double occupancy (subject to change for 2013). Please note that this departure is limited to 12 clients based on double occupancy accommodations. We anticipate that this departure will fill quickly and encourage you to secure reservations at your earliest convenience.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope you'll join Frontiers and Barry & Cathy Beck for what is sure to be an incredible trip.
