This charming 7-passenger vintage boutique barge oozes with the atmosphere of an appealing, floating English country cottage transplanted to France. Previously owned by the Provencal cosmetics company l'Occitane, Fandango (then moored in Paris) was used as a unique showcase for their new bath and skincare products. Owned and maintained by the exacting standards of Hazel Young, Fandango will begin the 2014 season with a chic new cabin in the bow, so that 3 couples are now happily accommodated. This barge has gorgeous ceramic tiles in the bathrooms and carefully selected, oh-so comfortable French bed linens dress the exceedingly delicious beds. Fortunate guests on Fandango enjoy a “French Food Appreciation” class, learning about the exquisite cheeses (introduced at their perfect ripeness), market fresh patés, and several techniques and recipes from Hazel’s cookbook, A Week on the Water. Our travelers always have rave reviews for their magical cruises onboard Fandango— the perfect choice for three couples together, or a girls’ get-together, be it mother/daughter, college friends, or sorority reunions.
Booked as: We prefer Fandango as a charter for 4-7 guests, for 6-night cruises. Note that for 4-5 passenger charters, the central sleeping quarters are used, and with 6 passenger charters, the new cabin with separate entrance is also used.
Meeting Point: Sunday afternoon in Carcassonne or Narbonne, either at the train station, airport, or central hotel.
