Photographic Safari in Botswana

Photographic Safari in Botswana, 2011
Hosted by Barry and Cathy Beck
June 18-27, 2011

Professional photographers and longtime friends of Frontiers Barry and Cathy Beck are returning to Africa in 2011 to host a photographic safari in Botswana's Okavango Delta. After their trip to East Africa in 2009 to witness the Great Migration, they are anxious to return to the "Dark Continent" and anticipate this safari to be their best yet.

Barry and Cathy are internationally renowned outdoor photographers, widely considered to be among the best in the field today. They run a stock photography business and have worked for Frontiers for 15 years, hosting our discriminating clientele around the globe. Their images are frequently published in dozens of magazines, books and outdoor publications. Barry and Cathy have written a number of books including Outdoor Photographer's Handbook. They will share their infectious enthusiasm for Africa while explaining (in terms amateur photographers will understand) what the pros know about natural light, flash and composition.Utilizing private charters throughout, each camp is being held exclusively for our group. The itinerary will include stays at Savuti Camp, situated in the Linyanti Concession along the Savuti Channel in northern Botswana; Chitabe Camp, which borders the Moremi Game Reserve; and Duba Plains, perhaps the Okavango Delta's most remote camp. This area of Botswana is famous for the endless conflict between prides of lions and the herds of buffalo that sustain them, as recently documented in the award-winning National Geographic special "Relentless Enemies."

Join Barry and Cathy for this deluxe photographic safari, June 18-27, 2011 -- their fourth trip to Africa since 2003. Their safari will have a strong emphasis on both wildlife and photography. All levels of photographic expertise from amateur to advanced are welcome, and the small group size will allow for quality, one-to-one instruction to help you improve your picture-taking skills and knowledge of African wildlife behavior. Even if you have no desire to learn about photography, you will find the Becks to be delightful hosts who will be on hand to ensure that this trip is the very best of your lifetime!

This departure is limited to just twelve guests and we anticipate that it will fill quickly. Contact Kristene Matelan for complete details or view the PDF itinerary found below.
