The mission of the United Adventure BearTM Program is to bring smiles to children in need across the globe. This year’s program will benefit organizations that help children during health struggles and economic hardship, including the American Cancer Society® and Make-A-Wish® America.
About the Program
The United Adventure Bear Program was created to increase United's impact in the communities we serve and extend customer and co-worker engagement opportunities. The program is made up of three components: bear design and naming, fundraising, and bear deliveries.
Bear design and naming: United collaborates with GUND® to create a limited-edition teddy bear to serve as the annual program ambassador. United co-workers then participate in a contest to give the ambassador a “beary” special name.
Fundraising: The annual fundraising period takes place in May and June. Proceeds benefit organizations that help children and their families during health struggles or economic hardship, including the American Cancer Society® and Make-A-Wish® America. A portion of the funds raised will also benefit organizations within United hub locations.
Bear deliveries: Each January and February, program partners and United co-workers deliver bears to children around the globe who are experiencing health struggles or economic hardship. United Adventure Bears have traveled near and far, both within the United States and to countries including Australia, China, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Portugal and Vietnam.
