Region: France
Location: Burgundy region
Capacity: 8 Guests
This luxurious Orient-Express barge, the Amaryllis, carries 8 passengers along an interesting combination of scenic river and canal cruising in Burgundy. Several cruise routes skirt the famous Cote d'Or, emphasizing the wines, vines, and rich architectural heritage from the wealthy Dukes of Burgundy. No expense has been spared with respect to passenger comfort and design. The Amaryllis has been decorated by some of the most respected names in France and Italy and reflects a mixture of traditional classic styling with Nina Campbell fabrics and custom-made Florentine and Venetian light fixtures. On the upper deck, a large comfortable salon opens onto a lovely teak deck (perfect for alfresco dining) with a heated pool, a formal separate dining area, and one sleeping cabin. One deck below houses three incredibly spacious sleeping cabins, and a crew of six is on hand to attend to your every need. Almost too splendid to be called a “barge," this gorgeous lady is Frontiers' pick for the best bathrooms on any cruise in Europe!
Meeting Point: Sunday afternoons. Included in the barge rate are roundtrip first class, high speed TGV train tickets between Paris and the town closest to the barge mooring, plus roundtrip transfers between the barge and rail stations. Pick-up at a central Paris hotel and transport to the Paris rail station on Sundays available for charters only.
