The 8-passenger ENCHANTÉ indeed provides an Enchanted voyage on the historic Canal du Midi, cruising between the medieval walled fortress town of Carcassonne and Beziers on the Mediterranean. Owned by barge veterans Louisa and Roger Gronow, each with over 10 years of experience, Enchante is a new and extremely spiffy two-deck barge that was actually named by Frontiers’ Bethany Hunkele! The 4 equal cabins have individual climate control and superb beds; the spacious baths have excellent showers. Comfortable Dutch bikes with extra seat padding and high handlebars are onboard for individual explorations on the shady towpath—and just so you can’t get lost, each cabin has a cell phone so you can call the barge if you’ve taken a wrong turn! Be sure to ask about their Starlight Cruise, always a favorite during the week!! Perfect for just a two-some or even better for a charter up to 8, this one is a Frontiers favorite on this canal.

Meeting point: Sunday afternoons at any one hotel, rail station, or airport in Toulouse/Carcassonne or Beziers/Montpellier (depending on cruise direction).
