Virtuoso: The Elegant Journeys Department of Frontiers became a member of Virtuoso in 2004, and our clients have enjoyed the numerous benefits of this exclusive membership ever since. Virtuoso is a private network of "specialists in the art of travel" focusing on upscale leisure travel. Less than one percent of travel agents in this country are accepted for membership in this elite organization. Our alliance with Virtuoso enables us to offer clients complimentary upgrades, outstanding amenities, added values and VIP status at top hotels and resorts around the world. In addition, we have access to special private events and shore excursions on select cruises. In 2007, agent Susie Gavlik was awarded the prestigious 'Agent in the Know' award by Virtuoso local agents throughout South America for her superior knowledge of the culture and destination. Most recently, Mollie Fitzgerald was honored with the 'Most Admired Advisor' award at Travel Mart 2010, a recognition also bestowed upon her by industry peers.

A sub-category of Virtuoso is called VAST, which stands for Virtuoso Active and Specialty Travel. It is a perfect fit for Frontiers' more active and outdoors-oriented clients. Some of our favorite VAST suppliers include Lindblad Expeditions, King Pacific Lodge, TCS Expeditions, Zegrahm Expeditions, American Safari Cruises, Backroads, Butterfield & Robinson, explora Lodges of Chile, Alpine Adventures, and many more. We were honored to receive the VAST Certificate of Recognition for "Top Producing Team in the VAST Challenge 2006," and Linda Rumburg is currently one of 40 Travel Specialists in the U.S. with VAST Specialist Certification, which she completed in 2007 to expand our in-house expertise.

Jill Jergel for her specialty in France. Jill is also a certified Maison de la France Specialist, awarded by the French Tourist Office to agents possessing an exemplary level of knowledge of France. Jill was also chosen to design and execute the trip to Provence for Editor Kate Maxwell that was published as part of the 'Iconic Itinerary' series in 2010.

Travel + Leisure's A-List: Mollie Fitzgerald was recognized for the third time as a ‘Super Agent' by Travel + Leisure magazine's ‘A-List' of 125 top travel experts. Contributing Editor Andrea Bennett has identified Mollie as an expert in Active Travel since 2007.

Saveur: The elite culinary magazine Saveur has forged a cutting-edge partnership with Virtuoso and, in doing so, has created a Culinary Travel Advisory Board. Frontiers' Mollie Fitzgerald is honored to serve on this board and looks forward to combining her travel expertise and experience with her passion for cuisine. Saveur seeks out stories from around the globe that weave together culture, tradition and people through the language of food. On every page, the magazine honors a fundamental truth: cooking is one of the most universal -- and beautiful -- means of human expression.
