An Exclusive Getaway in Upstate New York's Adirondacks

An exceptional historic, private lakefront Great Camp...

An exceptional historic, private lakefront Great Camp for exclusive use of up to 24 persons, Lake Kora.

Faced with restrictive travel guidelines, many families are abandoning or postponing their earlier planned international summer travel plans and wondering where they can find a respite from COVID-19. Live like a Vanderbilt and experience a slice of history this summer at the beautiful Great Camp of Lake Kora.

Tucked away on its own 1,000 acres in a remote corner of the “forever wild” Adirondack Park, Lake Kora is a Virtuoso-preferred, 12-bedroom private estate and lake available for exclusive use from July 1–October 15, offering a gem of an escape for the best of summer and the beautiful early autumn weeks. Considered one of the most luxurious of the historic Adirondack Great Camps, Lake Kora appears as if out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Exceptionally, you and your family have the opportunity to experience what the Gilded Age Industry Titans like the Rockefellers enjoyed – a remote and private summer escape unlike any other!

With its own lake as a focal point, Lake Kora offers a wide range of watersports activities from the beautiful boathouse (sailboats, antique canoes, kayaks, electric boats, and fishing gear) plus lighted tennis courts, miles of walking and mountain biking, a private softball field, and a massive log cabin Playhouse complete with its own vintage two-lane Brunswick bowling alley. Enjoy roasting marshmallows at the lakeside log lean-to decked out with reclining cushions, woolen Adirondack blankets, and a roaring fire pit or listen to tales of the woods told by a local native American storyteller. Phenomenal meals are served in the Main Lodge’s convivial dining room, although picnics are also popular. The property rental includes all meals and non-alcoholic beverages..

Daily rate based on a 4-night minimum stay is $19,980 + 8% + staff gratuities.

About Lake Kora

The historic camp at Lake Kora contains some of the finest rustic furniture of the period and is considered a masterwork of regional architecture by experts. Located six miles from the main road, the compound is comprised of original turn-of-the-century handcrafted log and stone lodges. Among the numerous outbuildings, there is a Main House with five inviting, unique rooms and a stunning Boathouse with individual apartments. There’s a lakeside Gardener’s Cottage, two lovely additional guest cabins, plus a very private cabin on an island in the lake. Fireplaces are abundant in all of the buildings and always lit for you when there’s a chill in the air—truly the ultimate in log cabin luxury!
